The following information is for families who would like to apply for Open Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year. Open enrollment allows families who reside within our district boundaries to request enrollment for their children at any school within our district if space is available. You do not need to apply for Open Enrollment if you want your child to attend their school of residence. 

The first round of Open Enrollment for grades Kindergarten through 12th grade begins at 9 a.m. on January 9, 2023, and ends at 4:00 p.m. on February 3, 2023.

Along with our neighborhood schools, Open Enrollment includes our Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program at Scott Lane Elementary School, Washington Open Elementary School, and Millikin Basics+ Elementary School. Admittance to the school of your choice under Open Enrollment is done by an annual random lottery system. You will be notified of the status of your application no later than March 17, 2023.

The Peterson Plus lottery will open at 9 a.m. on March 20, 2023, and end at 4 p.m. on March 31, 2023. If you live outside the Peterson Middle School boundaries, you must apply for Open Enrollment to Peterson Middle School prior to entering the Peterson Plus lottery.

Current Students Enrolled in SCUSD

All students currently attending SCUSD may complete an Open Enrollment Application for the 2023-2024 school year. For instructions on how to complete the application, please visit our Open Enrollment webpage and follow the Step-By-Step Guidelines for Open Enrollment.

New Students to SCUSD 

Prior to applying for Open Enrollment, students not attending SCUSD for the 2022-2023 school year must register at their school of residence through our centralized Enrollment Center.
